I've always had curiosity, especially when it came to things beyond my familiarity. From my early adulthood, I discovered the best way to explore this further was found in many places and I travelled alot to find out what that really means. As a result, I often found myself out of my comfort zone. Through a gathering of many experiences and learning, I have since weaved together almost 20 years of holistic health and working with many people on different levels to focus on somatic healing and mind-body focused therapy.
Opportunities brought me a variety of experiences in travel, wellness and guiding, that eventually led to developing travel and wellness retreats in South America. With a background in holistic health, environmental education, adventure travel and yoga retreats, I'm devoted to guiding individuals on their healing journeys to improve overall health, build strong relationships and access more vitality.
I believe there is a deep knowing of experience that we can tap into within the layers of our minds and bodies. For me it began with a background in holistic health and cultural studies during my Bachelor of Arts degree. I studied Sociology/Anthropolgy and International Development. This degree became more expansive with an opportunty to study in India where rich tapestries of color, ancient civilizations, and drinking chai on street corners brought me into a deep connection in understanding how our familiar and unfamiliar experiences can shape us.
Travel to India at a young age upleveled my curiosity, and I enjoyed being in new countries and embracing wild natural places. When I completed my BA degree, I went to Japan as an English teacher. I began the study of Shodo arts (the art of calligraphy), mindfulness and Zen meditation, and was drawn to the expansion and connection of stilling the mind. The life and culture of Japan are incredibly influenced by natural simplicity. After a year, I returned to Canada and completed a Masters in Environmental Studies (MES) based on my passion for nature-based exploration.
I specialized in holistic healing and health where I explored the role and influence of natural medicine on our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Around the same time, I was studying herbal medicine with a local traditional Herbalist, apprenticing and manufacturing medicine for Naturopathic Doctors.
I became fascinated with healing, people and plant relationships. I embarked on field research in Costa Rica where I developed an education program on the sensory experiences of medicinal plants for wellness and vitality. I had been dabbling in somatic practices through a natural lens and at the same time, my passion for Latin America took hold. After the completion of my degree, I was serendipitously offered a position to work for a travel company that started off in the Andes of Peru where my joy of being with people, travel and culture fell in perfect alignment.
I thought what would have been a short-lived experience, turned into over a decade of facilitating journeys for people from around the world throughout Latin America. Soon, the world of adventure and travel filled my experiences with a lot of movement and activity. I believe the practice of yoga that I had begun in my teen years, and periods of self care kept me grounded through some of the most difficult and agitating times.
I had spent over a decade as a student of yoga before I became a certified yoga teacher in 2008. With almost 20 years of experience, practice and teaching in Hatha and Restorative yoga styles in private, group and global retreat settings, I was by definition a well-versed yoga instructor.
I was quite happy facilitating yoga adventures for over five years while living in Brazil. As part of any journey, I encouraged a safe and supportive space to surrender, encourage awareness, and connect with the body through postures, movement and breath. My naturally empathic and intuitve skills attuned to individual needs while creating sacred spaces, and harmonizing group dynamics. Then one day things began to shift, and I knew it was time for new experiences to unfold.
I returned to Canada in 2017 where I began to shift focus into deeper levels of embodiment and expansion through transformation coaching and somatic therapy. During this time, I also shared more about my personal life stories and transformations in the Amazon international #1 best-selling, multi-author book "The Voyage and the Return – The Path to Self-Discovery" .

The private sessions with me offer the space for you to be heard, cared for, and have moments to reflect. My therapeutic toolkit offers a variey of modalities to guide you through a safe and supportive experience for a profound transformational journey. I support you to cultivate an awareness of your story, navigate the narratives that have come along with it, and foster a process of reclamation with a compassionate appreciation of your experience.
Witnessing areas of your life that have held you in survival mode, created anxiety or elevated stress allows for the ability to release stored patterns that affect your everyday living. Together, we can see through the emotional layers and establish new ways of thinking and perceiving experiences. Working in collaboration in the sessions will offer a way to soften and relate to your experiences with wisdom, aliveness and be brought into an empowered place of knowing.
In the sessions, we work together with an embodied awareness to overcome imbalances, fractures and overwhelm in your body. We address any emotional, physical or energetic symptoms that arise and influence your inner critic, affect your relationships, and reveal how they show up in your life and experiences. This allows to focus and reconnect with your original state of balance and wholeness already present in your mind, body and heart.
