Ignite your Inner Guidance Systems

"Soma" is a Greek word for body, and somatic therapy integrates mind-body based therapies from physiological, emotional, cognitive and energetic perspectives. Tara Campbell BA, MES has certifications in Somatic Attachment Therapy, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy based in foundational studies with the leaders in the field of somatic, attachment and trauma therapy.

With an extensive background in Holistic Health and wellness, Tara inspires mind-body awareness and connections shaped alongside her two decades experience of yoga study, practice, and teaching. Healing happens when we are met exactly where we are

Your natural intelligence is waiting to be seen, felt and heard

Your body holds deep wisdom waiting to unfold. It also stores emotions, experiences and memories that linger with the potential to hold your body in states of imbalance. These emotions and feelings can feel like you’re off track in your life and relationships. The body has the innate ability and desire to heal. During a session, you’ll be able to access points of imbalance and shift into greater states of peace and acceptance through careful guidance. Creating awareness and focus in a safe and supported environment brings you back home to yourself.

Depending on your life experiences, the self-narratives, the unconscious organizing principles and emotional wounding that shade your ability to step truly into the fullness of your being, together through authentic attunement we'll explore these feelings. It's possible to catalyze the areas of your life that have held you back from feeling free, sovereign, and to step into your full authenticity.

The ability to share and be open about what's holding you back with another is a powerful part of a transformational journey, can elevate your wellbeing, and become your discovered treasure in the ocean of your aliveness. I use a variety of modalities and therapies based on your needs that varies from session to session, meanwhile putting your comfort and support as the top priority.

Sometimes you need a moment to pause and reflect

It's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of life, like there is always something on the go or somewhere to be. As the increasing demands arrive on your daily doorstep, what would it be like to take a step back, pause and reflect?  How can you carve time out of your busy schedule and encourage room to develop more awareness of your experiences and circumstances?

Taking time to cultivate an awareness of your experiences can bring a fresh new perspective. Through deep inner reflection and tapping into the wisdom of your heart, there is a time and place to make things more clear and understandable. Taking time to pause and reflect means that you honor yourself and be with each and every moment that has brought you to this point.

But what if you haven't been able to do that recently, and you aren't feeling what is your best self? If you know that there's something within you that you would like to feel more connected to, reignite your passions, and build stronger relations with others, then these sessions are for you.

Now is your time

If you landed on this website, it means that you may be looking for some sort of change. It may be as a result of a desire to want more out of your life, and often that comes from within.  At times you may feel lost, stuck, broken, fearful, anxious or the feeling that something just isn't right. Many things can make us feel stagnant, frozen or in need of change.

Trauma can be mild, or it can be significant. If you have gone through a break-up, suffered a significant loss or death, experienced sudden change or have health issues, these experiences may make you feel imbalanced, hopeless or that life seems to be spiralling in an unknown and unfamiliar direction. You may be feeling like you can't get a hold on things or be able to switch lanes.

For many of us, it might not even take a significant event, but feelings of confusion, lack of clarity or just plain exhaustion take over, and you don't know why. These are the times when you receive the signal to pause and reflect. Engaging with another, who is just like you, and can guide you into authentic attunement is very helpful.

Frequently Asked Questions

The sessions are one hour. At times, the sessions may extend past one hour provided it is agreed upon by both parties.

You book the sessions as you feel required. Some clients are comfortable with one session. Having three or more sessions allow for a trust and relationship to develop with Tara, as well as with the parts of you seeking repair, acceptance and understanding.

Each somatic session is a process that depends on each person, and takes different amount of times for deeply held feelings to be explored, processed and shifted. This can occur quickly in a session, gradually or require some more time to be engaged in a coregulating and integrative process.

During and after the sessions you will notice shifts in your ways of thinking, feelings in your body and how you're showing up for yourself to know how the sessions are going.

The sessions are based on empowering you with the tools and techniques to gain a more authentic, fulfilling and joyful life, eventually requiring less sessions, and enable you to master your emotions more easily while tuning into your body's awareness more naturally.

There aren't any expectations in the sessions.

The sessions are created for you to explore emotions that you are comfortable with and reveal as much as you like as the session unfolds.

There aren't any expectations about what needs to be shared as the unfolding of the session in each moment will guide your inner trust system. The supportive and non-judemental space of each session will provide you to adjust to your own comfort level.

Being comfortable in each session is of primary importance, and what you choose to share will depend on your willingness and ability to tune in to what your body, mind and heart feels and have it received in a safe and supportive space.

As a result of internal changes in your mindset, your attitudes and behaviors may change and as a result, reflect in your relationships toward yourself and others.

While each healing session offers a unique opportunity for exploration, be prepared for some changes in your life that vary in quality and intensity.

Follow-up is available at any time. This can be arranged by booking another session or connecting via Voxer or a phone call to discuss developments and insights

During sessions, a client may re-live a memory, experiences and feelings that cause emotional responses and bring awareness of possible pain points. Each process can be managed through patience and practicing self-care.

You may feel these emotions arise during sessions and bringing awareness to them while being present to them, and approaching them compassionately.

It is recommended to have a free schedule for the remainder of the day after a session for any emotional processing, and to engage in self care practices.

Emotions that arise from the sessions vary for each person, in quantity and intensity. The sessions encourage a space of compassion and supportive resources for you that you're comfortable with.

Self-care practices can include drinking plenty of water, and having rest after a session.  Each person may have their own comfort routine and this is encouraged throughout the sessions and the period after.  Self-care can also include working less, taking time for yourself, going for long walks in nature, limiting tv and cell phone use, reading good books, listening to gentle music and pampering yourself.

I have had an extensive amount of training to be trauma-informed and I am trained to work within the limits and capacities of my clients through many trainings and being highly intuitive with a heart-centered approach.

I have been trained in courses that include Somatic Experiencing and the Healing of Trauma with Dr. Peter Levine; Internal Family Systems (IFS) with Fran Booth; Polyvagal theory and pathways to connection with Deb Dana; Somatic psychology and trauma recovery with Dr. Arielle Schwartz; Alchemical resilience with Nkem Ndego; Trauma and Embodied movement with Dr. Scott Lyons; Inner Relationship Focusing with Ann Weiser Cornell; Sensorimotor psychotherapy with Dr. Pat Ogden; Roots of Developmental Trauma with Dr. Ruella Frank; Hakomi Core principles with Manuela Mischke-Reeds; and Balancing Individual and Collective Trauma with Staci Hanes and more.
